What This Tool Extracts

Formatted view: Headings (H1–H6), bold, italic, underline, bullet lists, numbered lists, tables, and paragraph structure — all preserved as clean HTML
Plain text view: All text content stripped of formatting — ideal for pasting into other applications, running word counts, or processing with scripts
Tables: Converted to clean HTML table markup in formatted view; in plain text, columns are tab-separated
Images inside DOCX: Not extracted — only text content is processed

Does this work with .doc files (older Word format)?

No — this tool requires .docx format (Word 2007 and later). The older .doc binary format is not supported. If you have a .doc file, open it in Microsoft Word or LibreOffice and save it as .docx, then use this tool.

Are my Word documents safe to use with this tool?

Yes. The entire conversion happens inside your browser using the Mammoth.js library. Your document is never transmitted to any server — not ours, not anyone else's. You can safely use this tool with confidential documents, legal contracts, or any sensitive text.
